Overview
California Golden Bears
California, bold and blue
California’s 1920 Rose Bowl team went undefeated, and the 1951 squad brought the Bears another Rose Bowl appearance. The program’s history is also linked to “The Play,” the unforgettable 1982 finish against Stanford that remains a defining college football moment.
Cal fans bring Berkeley spirit, blue-and-gold colors, and a West Coast perspective to Saturdays. The Big Game with Stanford is the rivalry at the heart of the program, while matchups with UCLA and Oregon connect the Bears to Pacific football history.
