Overview
Charlotte 49ers
Gold standard, Niner Nation
Charlotte’s football program began play in 2013 and quickly built a following around the 49ers’ green-and-white identity. The team’s 2023 American Athletic Conference debut marked a major step in the program’s history and brought new regional matchups to the schedule.
Niner Nation brings Charlotte pride to game day, representing a university in one of the South’s largest cities. The rivalry with East Carolina carries North Carolina stakes, while games with Appalachian State and Georgia State connect the Carolinas.
