Detroit Lions
Detroit football, Thanksgiving tradition
Detroit’s championship teams of the 1950s won three NFL titles, and the Lions’ 1991 playoff run reached the NFC Championship Game behind Barry Sanders. Division titles in 2023 and 2024 added milestones to the team’s story and gave fans fresh reasons to celebrate.
Lions fans make Thanksgiving a Honolulu-blue tradition and fill Detroit with “One Pride” spirit, a bond strengthened through generations of waiting and cheering together. The rivalry with Green Bay is especially storied, while Chicago and Minnesota keep the NFC North history alive each season.
