Overview
Iowa Hawkeyes
Iowa, where the wave begins
Iowa’s 1959 Rose Bowl victory and the Hayden Fry teams of the 1980s built a recognizable Hawkeye tradition. The 2002 Orange Bowl and 2015 Big Ten championship added more defining seasons for a program known for defense and development.
Hawkeye fans create one of college football’s most moving traditions with the Kinnick Wave to young patients at the nearby children’s hospital. The rivalry with Iowa State is the Cy-Hawk game, while Wisconsin and Minnesota bring border-state history.
