Kent State Golden Flashes
Flashes of pride, Kent State
Kent State’s 1972 team captured the program’s first MAC championship, led by Hall of Fame linebacker Jack Lambert and future coach Nick Saban. The Golden Flashes won the MAC East in 2012 and reached the conference championship game.
Kent State fans bring blue-and-gold pride to Dix Stadium and rally around the “Flashes” identity. The Wagon Wheel rivalry with Akron is the program’s defining local contest, while games against Ohio and Buffalo add MAC history.
