Missouri State Bears

Bear pride, Springfield strong

Missouri State Bears — player action photograph

Missouri State reached the FCS playoffs in 2010 and 2011, building memorable postseason seasons for the Springfield program. The Bears’ football tradition reflects a close campus community and a history of competing against the region’s established programs.

Bear fans bring maroon-and-white pride from Springfield and the Ozarks. Rivalries with Illinois State and Southern Illinois connect Missouri State to Missouri Valley football, while games with Arkansas State add a nearby regional contest.

Sam Houston has the country's No. 4 pass defense and its QB (who attended the same high school as MSU great Jacob Clark) leads CUSA in passing. Here's a look at the Bears' Tuesday opponent, their first meeting since 2006 when the then-FCS teams were on each other's schedule three consecutive years. MSU is a 6.5-point betting favorite. https://t.co/xCqYhixUuM
