SMU Mustangs
Pony up, Mustangs
SMU’s 1982 team completed an undefeated season and claimed a national championship, while the 1980s “Pony Express” became one of college football’s most famous backfields. The Mustangs’ 2024 ACC title-game appearance brought another milestone to Dallas.
Mustang fans bring red-and-blue pride and Dallas energy to game day. The Iron Skillet rivalry with TCU is the centerpiece, while matchups with Baylor and Texas connect SMU to its long-standing Texas football roots.
