No fines for Broncos or Chargers in their game 6 days ago. (It was just 6 days ago. Much has happened since).

Broncos have been granted a roster exemption for Jonathon Cooper thru their next game vs Arizona. Exemption expires the next day. It’s up to Sean Payton and training staff to determine whether Cooper is ready to play vs Arizona after 6 weeks of no practice and no games. For his part, Cooper told me last week he’s more than ready.

Had Davis Webb been the play caller behind that performance last night, he would’ve been vilified far more than Bo. Thing is Payton as head coach play caller seemingly put restraints on Bo and offense after 14-3 lead. He even said: “Fortunately we didn’t make any mistakes and I know that sounds a little conservative but we felt that was going to be the difference.” Darnold had no such restraints and he threw costly pick on third and one. Restraint was smart. Bo won again. Darnold lost. No matter who looked better.

NFL will continue to monitor and investigate Cooper’s legal matter. Broncos will have one-week roster exemption before he counts against 53. Cooper had been essentially on paid leave following two incidents in June involving former girlfriend that led to two arrests and 5 current charges that are still pending in Douglas County Court.

Per source, the NFL removed Jonathon Cooper from the Commissioner Exempt List. The Broncos OLB will be eligible to play in the Broncos’ Week 7 game on Oct. 25 after missing six games.   The NFL initiated an investigation under the Personal Conduct Policy following Cooper’s arrests in June. The league’s review remains ongoing and is not affected by this change to Cooper’s roster.

Bo Nix after 107 yards passing: “I don’t understand why we can’t really push the ball vertically right now. Defenses are just sitting back there hanging out. We’re just going to keep running the football. Hopefully you have to find ways to get more out of it. "I don’t know where the disconnect is right now, to be honest because when the shot is called, we read it out, it’s not there, you make the right play with the football, check it down, go to the next play. I just think we’re really for some reason struggling to find those explosive plays. That’s what makes an offense really spectacular is finding explosive plays. Right now, we don’t have those.”
